Yes, you can save Chrysler from bankruptcy — in a game

Dukes of Hazard

(We Decided To Use The Dukes of Hazard 2005 Version)

The Game has 'General Lee' from 1969

It’s hard to find much that’s funny about the auto industry bailout, but the online magazine iMotor is trying something to change that.

The site now has a simple game on its site called “Bail out Chrysler” in which players use the directional keys on their keyboard to steer a car down an eight-lane highway, trying to collect bailout funds dropped along the way.

At the same time, the player has to avoid collisions with passing vehicles that tap the bailout kitty. A cash counter records the cash collected and time added to Chrysler’s lifespan. Crash too often, the counter drops to zero and it’s game over for the automaker.

Players can choose among several models to drive, including a PT Cruiser, a Prowler, a Viper and the “General Lee” — a 1969 Dodge Charger featured in “The Dukes of Hazzard” TV series.

Game Guy found it more fun to crash the cars, which is probably why he’s not on Chrysler’s board. Given the company’s situation though, he couldn’t have done much worse.
